Networking is an everyday, natural way of living.
Let's say you and your spouse went out to see a movie. You really enjoyed the action, the plot, and the suspense kept you on the edge of your seat. After the show, you left the theater with a great feeling.
You were so excited about the show, that you just had to tell you friends and neighbors about it.
That is a form of networking.
Here is another example.
You've just found a great shampoo and you've told all your friends. Too bad you could not get a bit of cash for each person you've told. Well … actually you can. Network marketing is selling products you use and like to your friends, your associates … your network. They get a great product and you get paid. And if a friend decides to start telling their friends about that great shampoo, you will get paid on their sales well.
Just about everything you use every day can be sold through network marketing, also called Multi-Level Marketing, or MLM.
It is a time honored way of distributing products. Most companies use paid distributors to get their products from the manufacturer to the retail stores. MLM uses an independent sales force/network to sell products directly to the consumer and not through retail locations.
You earn a percentage, or commission, on each sale you make when you are part of a MLM network. You can make a good living just by selling the products. But the added value of network marketing is that you can create a downline of people and receive a commission from each of their sales. That is the power of MLM. You can be a terrific sales person but there are only so many hours in the day. With a downline you multiply your efforts. You can make money while you are sleeping, on vacation, or just playing with the kids.
Your downline is created when you bring someone into the MLM program and they start selling. Let's say you receive $1 for each bottle of shampoo you sell. You also receive $.25 for each bottle of shampoo your downline sells. If you have ten people in your downline and each one sells ten bottles of shampoo in a day. You've made $25 and you did not do any of the work. But what if you had 25 people in your downline? You would make $62.50. With 100 people … you would receive $200. I think you get the idea.
You can be a success as an active part of a Network Marketing Program.
